Following severe winters between 2009-2012 a network of 4X4 Response teams was setup across the UK to assist the statutory organisations to continue to provide services to the most vulnerable people in our communities when road conditions meant that some roads were impassable by a standard vehicle, effectively meaning that some communities were isolated.
Set up in 2010, Tayside 4×4 Response has been supporting the NHS, Police, Scottish Fire and Rescue and local authorities when the weather has been severe and meaning staff have struggled to get to work or get out into the communities to provide health and social care.
