We have various opportunities within our organisation, all of which ensures that we are able to provide a reliable and responsive service.
4×4 Responder
Individuals with 4×4 vehicles that are willing to head out in the poorest of conditions, whilst remaining calm when the going gets tricky are the frontline of Tayside 4×4 Response. All our responder volunteers are PVG checked, additional Police checked and will receive training on using our systems, map-reading (and other navigational means) and amateur radio trained. Each volunteer will receive appropriate protective clothing for the conditions we are working in.
Fund Raiser
We are a charity and rely on fundraising to keep us going. If you have experience of successful fundraising then we need you!
Control Team
Behind each Responder is a good controller, could that be you? Our control function is split into two parts, call taker and dispatcher. Starting as a call-taker you will take any calls for assistance from any of the organisations within the local resilience partnership and any other organisations who we have agreed to support and log them onto our dispatch system.
At this point the dispatcher will then co-ordinate the requests and allocate each task to the most appropriate Responder.
These roles are vital to the service we provide and a full training package which covers our roles and responsibilities during a major incident, training on our dispatch and national phone system and how to manage frontline resources to ensure they are kept safe. As part of the control team you will be at the heart of the operations which can be challenging and exhilarating.
Website & Social Media Admin
Our public image is vital to ensuring a good reputation, being attractive to potential volunteers and for attracting potential fundraising activities. If you have experience of managing a WordPress website and various social media platforms for business activities then we’d love to hear from you.
